Trikora Beach: What to Know Before Visiting East Bintan

Trikora Beach is located on Bintan Island’s east coast, about 60 minutes by car from Tanjung Pinang and around 60 minutes from the Bintan Resorts hotel area.

The coastline runs across several quiet sections, each with clear water, white sand, and scattered granite boulders.

Locals use it mainly for weekend picnics, renting thatched beach huts and drinking fresh coconut water by the shore.

Tide levels change a lot here. At low tide the water can pull back over a hundred meters, exposing sand flats better suited for walking than swimming.

Some stretches stay clean; others collect debris after the tide goes out, so results vary by section and season.

Nearby fishing villages still build wooden boats by hand along the coast. Visitors who want young coconuts or a thatched beach hut should bring cash in Indonesian Rupiah, as local vendors here only accept cash.
