There are two main ways to travel from Bintan to Batam, depending on where you are staying.
You can take a speedboat from Tanjung Uban Port in the north of Bintan, or a ferry from Tanjung Pinang Ferry Terminal in the south.

Bintan to Batam by Speedboat
If you’re looking for the fastest way to travel from Bintan to Batam, taking a speedboat is the best option.
The journey takes only around 15 minutes, making it ideal for travelers who want the quickest transfer between the two islands.
You can depart from Tanjung Uban Port, located in the northern part of Bintan.
This route is especially convenient if you are staying in the Bintan Resort area or nearby hotels in the eastern part of the island.
From the Bintan Resort area, the land transfer to the port takes approximately 40 minutes, which still makes this option very efficient overall.
Speedboat Schedule
Speedboats operate daily from around 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
Departures are available approximately every 30 minutes, providing flexible travel timing throughout the day.
Ticket Price & How to Purchase
Tickets for the speedboat are available at the counter only, as online booking is not currently available. You can go directly to the counter at the port and purchase your ticket on the spot.
The ticket price ranges from IDR 50,000 to IDR 65,000 per person (one way). Payment is typically made in cash using Indonesian Rupiah (IDR).

Bintan to Batam by Ferry
Tanjung Pinang is the main city of Bintan Island, located in the southern part of the island. From here, you can travel to Batam by ferry, with a journey time of around 60 minutes.
This route is ideal if you are staying in Tanjung Pinang city, The Residence Bintan, or accommodations located closer to Tanjung Pinang Ferry Terminal.
Ferry Schedule
Ferries operate daily from around 7:30 AM until 5:30 PM, with departures every 30 minutes. This route is served by multiple ferry operators, ensuring a consistent and reliable schedule throughout the day.
Ticket Price & How to Purchase
The ferry ticket costs approximately IDR 80,500 per person (one way), which generally includes terminal fee and basic insurance.
Tickets must be purchased at the counter, as online booking is not available. Payment is typically made in cash using Indonesian Rupiah (IDR).
When you arrive at the terminal, you will first need to pay a terminal fee of IDR 12,000 per person before entering the ticketing area. After that, you can proceed to the counter inside the departure hall to purchase your ferry ticket.
