Lagoi Bay Beach, also known simply as Lagoi Beach, is the only public beach inside the Bintan Resorts area. It runs about 3.5 kilometers along the coast, right next to Plaza Lagoi.

Tide timing matters more here than most marketing pages let on. At low tide the water pulls back noticeably, so swimming isn’t always possible depending on when a visitor arrives.

Checking the tide schedule for the day, rather than just picking a random time, makes for a smoother visit. Low tide isn’t a total loss either, since it’s when small crabs and hermit crabs come out along the sand.

Beyond swimming and beachcombing, there’s room for beach volleyball, a walk along the shore, or simply relaxing with a view of the South China Sea.

Public toilets, showers, and changing rooms are available near the beach, and Plaza Lagoi is a short walk away for food and drinks.

Crowds shift a lot depending on the day. Weekdays tend to be quiet, with fewer stalls and shops open in Plaza Lagoi.

Weekends and holiday periods bring a noticeably bigger crowd, including many domestic travelers staying at hotels right around Lagoi Bay.

Several hotels sit close enough to walk straight to the beach: Kamuela Villas Lagoi Bay, Grand Lagoi Hotel, Four Points by Sheraton Bintan, The Sanchaya, Holiday Inn Resort Bintan, and Hotel Indigo Bintan Lagoi Beach. Guests staying at these can reach the sand in a few minutes on foot.

For those staying elsewhere within Bintan Resorts, Grab Car is available around the area] as an easy way to reach the beach.

Anyone still figuring out how to get around the island more broadly can check the Bintan transportation guide.
