What You Need Before Traveling to Batam

Before traveling to Batam, Indonesia, make sure you prepare the following documents to ensure a smooth and hassle-free arrival.

1. Valid Passport

Make sure your passport meets Indonesia’s entry rules

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival in Indonesia.

This is a mandatory requirement for all international travellers and will be checked by immigration upon arrival.

Proof of return or onward travel is required

Immigration officers may ask to see a return ticket or an onward travel ticket as proof that you will leave Indonesia.

This helps confirm the length and purpose of your stay in Batam.

Complete Indonesia’s mandatory online arrival form

Travelers often refer to this form as the Batam Arrival Card when visiting Batam.

Officially, it is called the All Indonesia e-Arrival Digital Card.

All international travellers entering Indonesia, including Batam, must complete this form online within 72 hours before arrival.

After submission, you will receive a QR code, which must be shown at immigration.
